We are completing the spelling updates to the books of Psalms in the Matthew Bible: Modern Spelling Edition. It is a fascinating book and we want to share just a little bit about it with you.

The Psalms is divided into 5 books with 150 sections. The name Psalms, means “words sung to music.” Here is a list of the five books and their divisions:

Book 1 = 1 - 41

Book 2 = 42 - 72

Book 3 = 73 - 89

Book 4 = 90 - 106

Book 5 = 107 – 150

The beauty of the Matthew Bible is hard to surpass:

“At the last, I came to this point, that I thought: O why art thou so foolish? The right hand of the most highest can change all. Therefore will I remember the works of the Lord, and call to mind thy wonders of old time. I will speak of all thy works, and my talking shall be of thy doings” (Pslams 77:10-12 MBMS).

These Psalms were written by many people, although King David wrote/authorized nearly 75 himself. Among the other writers are Asaph, Ezra, sons of Korah, Herman, Ethan, Moses, and others. It is possible that Ezra compiled these Psalms.

Here at TheMatthewBible.com we would like to know if you are interested in a book of the Psalms being released prior to the full Bible. Add your thoughts in the comments section or fill out the two question survey and let us know. Thanks.
